Acorn Showroom

Colour and material are defining architectural devices within this compact Northland

bach, shaping how the space is experienced. Colours are warm and optimistic, designed

to evoke joy, nostalgia, and the ease of a holiday by the sea. Rather than accenting

objects, colour is integrated into the built fabric, with cabinetry, flooring, wall planes, and

tiled surfaces creating moments of contrast, rhythm, and depth. These design gestures

organise the modest space while celebrating the timeless charm of the classic Kiwi bach.

Acorn Showroom

2025

Acorn’s showroom is a physical embodiment of the brand’s philosophy, celebrating human-centric design, meticulous craftsmanship, and the seamless balance of form and function. The space was envisioned as a refined yet welcoming environment, where contemporary clarity meets material warmth, allowing visitors to experience the brand’s furniture in a considered, almost gallery-like setting. Within the open-plan layout, a series of tall sliding fabric panels add flexibility, allowing the creation of room-like zones.
